Hyatt Regency New Orleans

History marked a significant date in the resurrection of one of the world’s great convention cities when the Hyatt Regency New Orleans re-opened October 19, 2011. The hotel, which first opened in 1976, hosted nearly three decades of key meetings before the devastation of Hurricane Katrina.

After undergoing a $281 million redevelopment, the hotel reopened with double the meeting and exhibition space, comprehensive food and beverage opportunities, and a new entrance on Loyola Avenue. With the Mercedes Benz Superdome and new Champions Square by its side, the new 32-story Hyatt Regency New Orleans will anchor the city’s sports and entertainment district, ideal given the slate of exciting events the city will host in the coming years, including Super Bowl XLVII in 2013.

The hotel’s 200,000 square feet of meeting space, which includes 80,000 square feet of exhibition space under a single roof, two 25,000-square-foot ballrooms, 71 meeting rooms, and an Executive Meeting Level, gives the hotel capacity to host entire programs, large or small.

Along with 1,193 contemporary guest rooms, including 95 suites and five meeting planner suites designed specifically for meeting professionals, guests will enjoy two bars, three restaurants—one featuring nationally recognized Chef John Besh, and both with private and semiprivate areas for entertaining—a vast pool deck, state-of-the-art fitness center, 24-hour convenience store Lagniappe Exchange, and a full-service Starbucks.
