Established in 1895 in the Sandhills region of North Carolina, Pinehurst elicits nearly the same admiration from golf fans as the game itself. The resort’s nine 18-hole championship courses include layouts by Donald Ross, Jack Nicklaus, Rees Jones, Ellis Maples, and George and Tom Fazio. Pinehurst has served as the site of more single golf championships than any course in America, including three U.S. Opens, the Ryder Cup, and the PGA Championship.
Pinehurst’s indoor meeting venues start with 14 technology-ready venues at The Carolina, the resort’s largest and most venerable hotel. The Carolina Grand Ballroom’s 9,600 square feet of space seats up to 1,000 guests and is located near Carolina Hall, with an additional 14,000 square feet ideal for exhibitions. Pinehurst’s two smaller hotels, the 42-room Manor and 82-room Holly, specialize in intimate meetings for up to 15 and 60 respectively. The Villas and The Condos at Pinehurst are well suited for VIP entertaining, as well as golf and family groups.
A 31,000-square-foot spa rounds out the classic pairing of business and golf—backed up by a 16-court tennis club, championship croquet, lawn bowling, and boating and fishing on Lake Pinehurst. Fine dining earns its share of fans as well. While ten restaurants seat guests for Continental, New American, and regional cuisine, a dedicated food and beverage department caters everything from coffee breaks to formal banquets to beach parties at the lake.
